Selim Aykut joins ATÖLYE—We are pleased to announce that Selim Aykut has taken on the new role of Director, Middle East to lead ATÖLYE’s explorations in the region.
After completing his high-school education in Robert College Istanbul, Selim attended the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, obtaining his Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics, double-majoring in Marketing and Management. He started out his professional career as a strategic brand consultant with Prophet in New York, advising numerous blue-chip clients in the fields of brand strategy, marketing strategy, brand design and customer experience.
After returning back home in 2011, Selim continued his consulting career, advising a large portfolio of clients across different industries, including services, airlines, banking, retail, packaged goods, insurance and telecommunications. Selim also held managerial positions in Sales, Marketing, Strategy and Digital Transformation at leading conglomerates in Turkey.
Selim has facilitated numerous interactive workshops on vision setting, branding, innovation and digital transformation during his career in Turkey and abroad. He has also delivered keynote speeches in events hosted by Harvard Business Review Türkiye, Webrazzi, Marketing Türkiye, GYIAD and Endeavor, blending his interest in new technologies, his understanding of customers, and his expertise in business design to try and shed light on the rapid pace of change in the world, and what that could mean for businesses and humans alike.
As the Business Design Director of Fjord’s Istanbul and Dubai studios, Selim spent the last 5 years focused on leveraging his 15 years of professional experience in strategy, design, branding, and customer experience, helping craft “user-centric solutions” and design “human-centric experiences” to address the widely-varying strategic needs of Fjord’s national and international clients.
On a more personal note, Selim has been a friend of ATÖLYE from the very beginning and has crossed paths and worked with many ATÖLYE team members in the past. Self admittedly, Selim has been watching and appreciating closely the novelty ATÖLYE is trying to bring to the world of design and consultancy.
With the arrival of Selim, we are ever more excited about what the future holds as we expand our network and amplify ATÖLYE’s impact with explorations in new parts of the globe.
