Sonay joined ATÖLYE in 2021 as a Senior lead to be actively leading Service Design and Design Strategy projects within Strategic Design Studio. Alongside her deep experience in automotive, she has been enjoying solving problems and designing new products and services in various fields of experiences.  Considering her passion to spread out the word of design and as a part-time lecturer in Özyeğin university she is leading the Thought Leadership presence, Learning and Development of the service design team inside the studio.

After 4 years of product design experience, Sonay participated in experience, service and product design projects in the automotive industry in Turkey for 6 years. With design thinking and human-centered design approach she enrolled multi-disciplinary teams into projects which aimed to solve business issues with origins in customer experience and create improved or new services.

In November 2019, she stepped into the consulting world as a service design lead and found the opportunity for problem solving in various sectors. Her part-time lecturer role in Özyeğin University in the Industrial Design Department started in 2017. Additionally Sonay is a board member of Service Design Network, Turkey Chapter since 2018.

Sonay studied Industrial Design both for BA and MA degrees in Tehran University of Arts, Iran. Lately in 2012 a second master’s degree she gained in Service design in Linköping University, Sweden.

Taking power from her cross-cultural approach to design- based on living, studying and working in diverse cultures- she is excited for problem solving in her daily life through empathizing and dreaming of an ideal world.
