ATÖLYE partners with Lune to leave a greener impact on the world

On our journey to becoming a B Corp in 2021, we had asked ourselves the following question: “We all leave our mark on the world, why not make it a beautiful one?” We believe, in order to do this, we must all “come back down to Earth.” On Earth Day 2022, we feel it is important to reiterate time and again that the global climate crisis is no longer a distant threat—it’s here now, and we all play a role in creating climate impact through our personal lives and our business priorities.

We’ve been focusing on two main goals; carving our path to “Net Zero” and elevating awareness for the role that we can play in urgently addressing the climate crisis. Now, we’re taking a further step on our environmental journey by partnering with Lune, whose mission is to make every product and service climate positive by default. With their support, we have offset the first portion of our carbon footprint: 94.34 tonnes of CO2—all of our flights and electricity for 2021.

Lune specializes in connecting businesses like ATÖLYE with high-quality carbon offsetting projects that are curated based on the projects’ goals and capacity for driving measurable climate impact. In preparation for Earth Day, we have selected projects that will be supporting Global Renewable Projects: Gujarat Solar and Shandong Wind. In the future, we hope to pick projects that align with the Oxford Principles.

We know that we’ve hit a milestone today, but we also know that our footsteps must become more intentional as we move forward; there is no time left, and becoming Net Zero—and reducing carbon emissions—are what we all need to commit to.

In the future, we’ll be further offsetting our company footprint and engaging with our partners to help them develop more sustainable products in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Let’s come back, down to Earth.
