Frequently Asked Questions
-
ATÖLYE is a strategic design and innovation studio that helps organisations turn transformation into lived experience. We design spaces, experiences and learning systems that shape how people actually behave, connect and work, connecting physical and digital environments with culture so change becomes tangible, coherent and sustainable over time.
-
ATÖLYE is a strategic design and innovation studio. Our work brings multiple disciplines together across space, experience, learning and systems to turn transformation into lived reality. This integrated approach allows what we design to grow stronger over time, creating sustained momentum long after delivery. We are not a pure strategy consultancy, nor a fit-out firm, nor an events agency. We sit at the intersection of all three disciplines.
-
ATÖLYE operates as a complete and independent strategic design and innovation studio, and is part of kyu Collective, a global collective of creative companies. Neol is a related platform that emerged from ATÖLYE's work on participation and community intelligence, and is engaged selectively when large-scale network or engagement insight is required for a specific brief.
-
ATÖLYE works with visionary leaders across the public and private sectors who are navigating complexity and shaping long-term futures. We partner with CEOs, Ministers, Director Generals and senior leaders responsible for culture, experience and capability across government institutions, large corporates and scale-ups. We are typically called when transformation feels abstract or disconnected from how people actually work and behave.
-
ATÖLYE 360 is our Experience Design practice, covering Advanced UX and CX. We design integrated experience systems that make transformation tangible by connecting strategy to behaviour across physical, digital and human touchpoints. ATÖLYE 360 is the right partner when transformation feels fragmented, when customer, employee or citizen experiences are inconsistent, or when change exists in strategy documents but not in daily reality.

ATÖLYE Space covers Spatial Strategy, Interior and Environmental Design. We design physical and hybrid environments as strategic infrastructure, creating workplaces, innovation hubs, educational institutions and public spaces that actively shape culture, behaviour and performance. Space shapes behaviour whether organisations plan for it or not. ATÖLYE Space helps organisations use their environments deliberately as part of transformation and culture design, ensuring spaces evolve and perform long after delivery.
-
ATÖLYE Academy designs and delivers Learning Programs and Community Design initiatives. Using a blended approach that combines design thinking, systems thinking and facilitation, we create cohort-based learning journeys that build practical capability and shift real behaviour, not just theoretical knowledge. Learning is designed alongside space and experience, so new skills are reinforced by context rather than isolated in classrooms or workshops.
-
ATÖLYE is not a fit-out company for superficial interior design, an event-led engagement agency, or a provider of off-the-shelf solutions. Our work requires a genuine commitment to meaningful, lasting change. If the goal is cosmetic, short-term, or templated, we are likely not the right partner.
-
The Vibrancy Loop is the reinforcing cycle through which ATÖLYE's work continues to grow in value over time. It emerges when space, experience, learning and systems are designed to work together, shaping behaviour and enabling environments to adapt, evolve and strengthen through use. Rather than requiring ongoing management, the Vibrancy Loop allows momentum to sustain itself, creating enduring impact long after delivery.
-
ATÖLYE designs across space, experience and learning as one connected system. Most firms work deeply in one of these domains. We work across all three simultaneously, which allows transformation to be designed as a lived system rather than a series of isolated interventions. When aligned, what we design reinforces itself and value compounds long after we step back.
-
Transformation is not a plan or a slide deck. It is a change in how people behave, work and experience a brand, product, service or organisation. ATÖLYE focuses on making transformation tangible, felt in environments, interactions and everyday behaviours, rather than leaving it as strategic intent.
-
ATÖLYE measures impact by what happens after we step away. If environments, systems and behaviours continue to evolve, adapt and improve without ongoing external intervention, the design has done its job. We assess each engagement across four dimensions: brand, talent, innovation and sustainability, tracking how our work generates organisational returns throughout the lifecycle of each project or programme.
-
ATÖLYE is the right partner when space is new but culture is not landing, when change is happening but behaviour is not shifting, when customer or citizen experience feels fragmented across channels, or when learning programmes are not translating into real action. We work best when engaged early, before the path is fully defined, helping leaders shape the future as they move through it.
-
Yes. ATÖLYE is deeply rooted in the region and highly attuned to its context, with active work across the UAE, Dubai, Riyadh and the wider GCC. Our understanding of how people gather, contribute and build together in this region is core to how we design. We also work internationally, as the challenges we address including organisational transformation, capability building, experience design and the role of space are global in nature.
-
Yes. Through ATÖLYE Academy, we design and deliver capability building programmes that can be aligned with national talent development priorities, including Emiratization goals and similar agendas across the GCC. Our approach combines design thinking, systems thinking and applied learning, building practical capability that sticks by connecting learning to real organisational challenges rather than theoretical content alone.
-
Yes. ATÖLYE works with public sector and institutional leaders shaping long-term futures at scale, partnering with decision-makers navigating complexity, building trust across systems, and acting with intention even when outcomes are not fully defined. Our work supports national and city-level ambitions by designing environments and experiences that enable participation, resilience and lasting public value.
-
ATÖLYE combines a core studio with a trusted extended network of architects, designers and specialists. This allows us to assemble multidisciplinary teams tailored to complex challenges, bringing together the exact expertise required without the overhead of a fixed large-firm structure. Quality and intent remain consistent across every engagement.
