Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we’re hosting CreativeMornings Istanbul virtually. This way, we want to create a space for discovery to bring human interaction to the digital realm.

Under the theme of “underdog”, CreativeMornings Istanbul is hosting Seçil Epik, an editor and an LGBTI+ rights activist. During our talk with Seçil, we will talk about topics she focuses on such as feminism, queer issues and racism.

About the Speaker: 

 

Seçil Epik is an editor and an LGBTI+ rights activist. Having studied Turkish Language and Literature, she was in the editorial team of K24, an online literary magazine, between 2016-2019. In the same period, she contributed to the establishment of Speak up – Platform Against Censorship and Self-censorship and worked as part of a team that organized various events in different cities of Turkey. Her articles and interviews that focus on topics such as feminism, queer issues and racism are published in different magazines and platforms such as Art Unlimited, Istanbul Art News, Milliyet Art, outride.rs. She’s been publishing “Epik ne okuyor?” (“What is Epik reading?”), a newsletter about feminist and queer literature, since 2018.
