About the Speaker:
Deniz Toprak graduated from Chemical Engineering department at Boğaziçi University. After a short corporate career, he landed in Sri Lanka following his dreams of living on an island with waves in the front yard. After establishing a surf school and hotel in Sri Lanka with his passion for surfing, he has now retured to Ordu, his place of birth, and expects to bring what he discovered in Sri Lanka to life here.
Deniz has a dream of opening a new window of thoughts and an alternative vision to young people with the movie about surf, that will soon come to life. After short productions and various surf-related shots in Sri Lanka, he’s about to share the film of the story of surfing in the Black Sea. He plans to open a new surf academy in Ordu, which can be a solution to the distance and fear between the Black Sea and the Black Sea people, and to offer a new excitement about the future to the young people there.
