“Evdeki Yaratıcılar” – Creators at Home, brings together new discoveries with former guests, focusing on the creative processes, inspiration and personal stories of artists and designers in the period of pandemic and social isolation.
The eleventh guest of the series is artist Mr. Besk. Born in Balıkesir, Mr. Besk got a bachelor’s degree at Graphic Design department at the Faculty of Fine Arts. Having met graffiti in high school, Mr. Besk got into street art in Istanbul, where he came to study.
During his university years, Mr. Besk collaborated with many brands. He opened his first studio in 2019 while carrying on with doing graffiti for different venues and brands after his graduation. At the same year, having been inspired by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s quote “An artist must be cultured and well informed of their history.”, Mr. Besk added traditional Turkish ceramic tiles and carpets to his art works and created his own language with this approach. The artist currently continues his work in his studio in Istanbul.
