About the speaker:
Bringing elements of folk, blues and acoustic pop together, Kalben has reached a unique community of music lovers, who have specifically fallen for her story telling skills and persona. Inspired by singer/songwriters such as Patti Smith, Beth Gibbons, PJ Harvey and the idea of traveling world through music, Kalben has viewed herself as a story teller all through her life.
Her third studio album, Kalp Hanım (Ms.Heart) produced by Genco Arı and released by Garaj Music, is a dream-pop album according to the artist who claims “this is the pop music of her dreams”. Her self-titled debut album Kalben, released in 2016, brought her a golden-record in digital sales along with many awards. Her second album Sonsuza Kadar (Forever) made her journey diversified, reaching out from Russia to New York; San Francisco to Berlin, adding many new cities in her home country to her slate, too. Kalben continues singing during these times of crisis and self-healing, for the sake of peace, unity and harmony. Her music carries hope and love wherever she goes.
