A blockchain is a continuously growing list of records that are linked together through encryption. Originally produced as an encrypted accounting method for the prevalent digital currency bitcoin harvests potential uses that facilitate social innovation applications. Born from the fruitful collaboration of the social innovation platform imece and UNDP Türkiye, ATÖLYE will be hosting the public event titled “Blockchain for Good” on 20 March and a private workshop on 21 March which is centered around the applications of blockchain technology for social good.

 

The event, specially curated to accommodate participants from all backgrounds, will provide an overview of various creative blockchain projects and discuss it’s real-world applications in context with social innovation. The workshop, intended for invited audiences only, will introduce UNDP Ankara’s portfolio of projects that tackle the refugee crisis in Turkey and the surrounding region. The workshop in collaboration with imece, will identify and discuss the prospect of implementing the blockchain technology as a solution.

 

The free of charge public event that will be held on the 20th of March will be held in English and open for registration online.
